Happy Birthday To Me

It's my birthday, gonna celebrate tomorrow. I had to work today but I will make up for it. G says I get to pick any restaurant I want to go to. Problem is, I didn't get to make reservations yet. L.A., preferably the West side , La Cienega, Melrose, Manhattan Beach, Marina Del Rey, or Venice. Any suggestions for medium to high end dining?

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I would say head over to...CYNTHIA'S! (Or Joe's. Mmmm. Joes.)

Whereever you go, just remember, calories dont count on your birthday!

ENJOY!

thank you all. I did try to get reservations at Joe's and they had nothing until after 9p. I'll check out Cynthia's.

Happy Birthday! So...you want us all to bake you cakes to rate? ;-)

You might try Canal club Wood Grill & Sushi in Venice. Looks good.

Rocca in Santa Monica on 4th, near
Broadway, app and pasta courses are small and main courses are large....devine beet salad, one of the pasta courses and back to apps. roasted baby mussels as my main course. Often great gelatos.
You might want to try Opentable.com we love it. It gives you available tables by date/time/locations/cuisine, etc.
And Happy Birthday, too.
I think you you and the front yard fig tree...tonight I plan to slice a fig open, stuff it w/blue cheese, wrap in procuitto
and bake or saute. Sue Young, MDR

Thank you all for your suggestions. My first choice was Joe's but we couldn't get a reservation. It pays to plan ahead.

I am going to have to try Cynthia's one day. Her fried chicken sounds pretty good.

Rocca is also on my to do list.

Well where did we go? G suggested that we go to an old standby- the Buggy Whip in Westchester. We had been there a couple of times before and with the atmosphere and my age, it seemed appropriate. Actually turned out nice and I did enjoy it. G also saved a treat for Ziggy- a pork shank bone.
